What practicing at shrinkMD is actually like
Most telehealth clinical jobs quietly ask you to trade your standards for convenience: seven minute visits, panels you'll never see twice, and pressure to prescribe what retention metrics prefer. shrinkMD was founded by a practicing psychiatrist specifically to be the alternative.
Here, evaluations run a full 45 to 60 minutes because diagnosis deserves it. Follow ups are 15 to 30 minutes with patients you actually know. There is no insurance billing, which means no prior authorizations, no claim denials, and no documentation written for an adjuster instead of a colleague. Measurement based care tools are built into the workflow, and the medical director is a clinician you can reach, not a dashboard.

Where we operate
Our multi state structure
shrinkMD operates through state specific professional entities in Florida, Georgia, Texas, California, Nebraska, New York, Virginia, Maine, Indiana, and Hawaii. Clinicians are onboarded in accordance with applicable state regulations.
Licensure in any one of our states is enough to start the conversation; licensure in several is a genuine advantage. If you're licensed in additional jurisdictions and want to discuss expansion, we'd like to hear from you.

Who can apply to shrinkMD?

Is this fully remote telepsychiatry?
Yes. Care is delivered by secure video within a structured clinical standards framework. The standards are the same as in person care.
What makes practicing at shrinkMD different from other telehealth platforms?
Full hour evaluations, panels with real continuity, no insurance billing or prior authorizations, no controlled substance volume pressure, and a physician medical director who practices. The structure protects clinical judgment instead of overriding it.
Do I need licenses in multiple states to apply?
No. Licensure in any one of our multiple states is enough to start the conversation. Multi state licensure is a genuine advantage and we support expansion over time.
Will I be pressured to prescribe controlled substances?
Never, structurally: shrinkMD does not prescribe controlled substances at all. Clinicians practice evidence based psychiatry with non controlled medications and honest conversations about alternatives.
How does compensation work?
Compensation is discussed directly during the interview process and depends on role, licensure, and availability. We keep that conversation honest and early so nobody's time is wasted.
